AFTERNOON TEA AT THE LANDMARK

I was lucky enough to be invited by Ladbrokes Bingo to have afternoon tea at the beautiful Landmark Hotel to celebrate the beginning of my favourite sporting event of the year, you guessed it ...Wimbledon! Anyone who knows me, knows how much I LOVE tennis, so when they offered me the chance to come down I was VERY excited(partially because I had this irrational hope that R-Fed would somehow be there...he wasn't.. meh)

 LONDON TO BRIGHTON
So, I had to pop down to Brighton for work so I thought I might as well get there early and make a day of it! I literally hadn't been there since I was a teenager. We used to drive down, go clubbing all night then drive back as the sun came up haha! Brighton hasn't changed much since then, it's still a pretty little seaside town with the cutest little cafe's.
The first good thing is that it's super cheap to get there! I bought a train ticket from London Bridge on a Saturday and it was only £10.50 for a super day return (that was without my Young Person's and I bought it on the day I didn't pre-book or anything)!
As soon as I left the station, I headed straight for the pier front passing lots of pretty little independent cafe's and not to mention a few rogue seagulls on my way!

When I arrived at the Pier it was just as beautiful as I had remembered and I was lucky because, although it was absolutely freezing, it was a beautiful bright and sunny day! As I ate my lunch on the beach it reminded me just how much happier I am in the sun and being by the water! I'm very grateful to be able to live in a city like London because there are just so many opportunities here, but I've always said I can't see myself living here forever it's just too cold and grey for me hahaha!
This trip has reminded me just how much I love Brighton so I definitely want to go back soon and explore the famous Lanes and maybe have lunch in one of the lovely cafes I saw! However, next time I think I'll come extra early in the day and leave before it gets dark because I did noticed some 'interesting' characters appear after the sun went down hahaha, oh dear!

31.01.15//CHALLENGE COMPLETE
So, I did it!! I sucessfully posted a new outfit every single day of this month! There were a few times I didn't think I'd get them done though! I found it quite difficult because I never really know what to wear, I'm very indecisive and always in a rush to get out the door!! As I said a couple of days ago I've really learned a lot about what looks good on me! I now have a much clearer idea about how I want to style myself from now on! So, without further ado here's the last outfit of my challenge! I hope you enjoyed it and that maybe in some way it inspired you!

29.01.15//pixie dust
I'm pretty sure this jumper is my mums,  I don't think I've worn lilac since I was about 8 haha! I actually remember discovering this colour and how I was absolutely obsessed with pastel colours in general (baby blue, powder pink, lemon you name it)! Me and my friend Robin had pencil cases full of those gel coloured pens, do you remember them? They even came out with some that had different scents according to the colour, the white one was popcorn, the yellow was lemon and the orange was  ummm orange e.t.c.

28.01.15//BLACK TO BASICS

Today, I just layered my leather jacket over this blazer/ cardigan thing I got from Forever 21 yonks ago! Yet again a really simple look, but I feel amongst other things this month I'm really starting to define 'my look'. In setting myself this challenge I've kind of forced myself to establish a 'uniform' of sorts. It's so refreshing to look back over this month (so far) and see what works for me and what really doesn't!

27.01.15//IT'S SHAWL MOST OVER
(oh dear, even for me that's an awful pun)
Just a simple one today. I got this scarf/shawl in the Zara sale for £9.99 and it was such a good find! It's so warm and cosy and pretty versatile too! Plus it's a bargain, I always drool over scarves like this in Zara then take one glance at the price tag and put it straight back!

26.01.15//HORSE AND HOUND

So, I broke my 'No shopping in January' rule yet again for something I've wanted for years. Yes, you guessed it, a Barbour Jacket. Whilst window shopping on ASOS, I saw this baby for £27 reduced from £90!!! I actually thought it had been listed incorrectly! Not only was it priced ridiculously low for a Barbour, but it was the last one and it just happened to be in a size 10 (I'm an 8 so it could be a bit smaller but it fits fine) so it had to be mine! It's such a great quality jacket and fits in perfectly with my sometimes modern equestrian/country style!
